Review: How It Ends by Laura Wiess

Book: How it ends
Author: Laura Wiess
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Synopsis:
All Hanna's wanted since sophomore year is Seth. She's gone out with other guys, even gained a rep for being a flirt, all the while hoping cool, guitar- playing Seth will choose her. Then she gets him - but their relationship is hurtful, stormy and critical, not at all what Hanna thinks a perfect love should be. Bewildered by Seth's treatment of her and in need of understanding, Hannah decides to fulfill her school's community service requirement by spending time with Helen, her terminally ill neighbor, who she's turned to for comfort and wisdom throughout her life. But illness has changed Helen into someone Hanna hardly knows, and her home is not the refuge it once was. Feeling more alone than ever, Hanna gets drawn into an audiobook the older women is listening to, a fierce, unsettling love story of passion, sacrifice, and devotion. Hanna's fascinated by the idea that such all- encompassing love can truly exist, and without her even realizing it, the story begins to change her.
Until the day when the story becomes all too real.... and Hanna's world is spun off it's axis by it's shattering, irrevocable conclusion.

Thoughts:
This book had me wondering until the very end. After reading this book I was crying so hard. I wanted so much for a happy ending to happen just like the narrator did but we both got what we deserved, a good ending. This is a book that is completely different then I have ever read. I am glad that I sat down and really read this book. I soaked every word up and still didn't realize how it was going to end. But I guess that's how it ends. Realizing now that this book was written to tell a tale that showed what life was all about. Keeping promises and love. The love that was shown in here between Lon and Helen was what true love is. Even though some of the things that were done may not seem like love, it was done for everyone's own good. This book also allowed the reader to recognize with Hanna. Her and Seth were bad from the beginning. I think every teenage girl has gone through that moment when we think that we were made for this one person but in reality it was doomed. This is a must read book. If you don't pay attention sometimes you could get confused but as long as you know what side of the story you are reading you should be good. This book dared to go where no one else has gone, and I applaud that. Laura Wiess is a writer to look out for. Can't wait to read more of her books!

Glee Forever

Dear Glee cast and crew,
After six years of watching this show I have come to the realization that there are only four episodes left and they are finished filming. No more pictures of the cast on the set. No more tweets about what surprises are to come in the upcoming episode. All the ships that people made will slowly go away. All the characters names that we have known so well will slip from our minds or our favorite scenes will no longer be remembered. But for me this isn't true. I will remember every inch of this show. This show helped me realize that being different is okay. Being open about yourself to people will allow you to see who your true friends are. Glee let me live in a world that was real. Glee showed us what life is before we had to experience it ourselves. Before I was in high school I knew that it wouldn't be easy because of Glee. High school isn't meant to be easy it is filled with sad and happy times. And sometimes even when you are out of high school people get crueler. You have to work for the things you want. Glee helped me know this. Life is hard and it will be harder now that Glee is on it's final season but I have had the opportunity for just a little while to live with these characters and fall in love with each of them, all in a different way. Thank you, Kurt for being inspirational and fashionable. Blaine, thank you for being Kurt's soul mate. You guys had a rocky relationship but isn't every relationship like that. Artie, thank you for not letting your disability get the best of you. Tina, thank you for showing me that you don't have to lie to make friends. Sam, thank you for being trouty mouth! Santana, thank you for being so rude but letting the viewers know that you do have a soft spot. Thank you Brittany for showing us that you don't have to have the same perspective as everyone else in the world. Quinn, thank you for picking yourself back up when your world crashed. Mercedes, thank you for being the Diva that I can only wish I was. Sue, thank you for being the person who could make me laugh nonstop. Puck, thank you for being so bad ass! Thank you, Will Shuester for believing in everyone and making me wish I had a teacher like you. Thank you, Rachel Berry for being you. Making me realize that life can't be put on a set schedule because it throws you curve balls. And finally the last thank you and for the person who deserves it the most. Thank you, Finn Hudson, the star of the football team ( #5) the male lead in Glee club, one of the best people around. The man who fell in love with Rachel Berry and loved her with all his heart. You are a man who could never be replaced. You are the quarterback of the team and you are heading into that tunnel full force. The leader that we all wish we had in our lives. Thank you, you are an inspiration.

Where Have I Been?

I know I haven't posted in forever on my blog and I feel so bad. I just got done with doing a musical for my school, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. And now, I am in the UIL play this year. I have also been trying to catch up on reading and writing. Plus I have to keep up with my schoolwork. Thank you guys for being patient. I will hopefully be posting more. I will post some more reviews of books soon!

Reading Challenge Update

Have you guys started your reading Challenge this year yet on Goodreads? If not, you should get on it. Set a goal that you know you can reach and maybe even surpass. It doesn't have to be a big number. I have mine set at 45 and I have read 10 books this year already. Compared to some that isn't much but for me that is pretty good because as you may be able to tell I don't have much time on my hands. I hope you join in on this challenge for 2015!
